Holiday Remote Letter

Dear Hooksett Families and Staff:

As a result of feedback from parents, the Hooksett School Board reconsidered their decision made on November 9, 2020 to shift to remote learning for 7 weeks.  Last night, the Board voted to have students shift to remote learning from November 30, 2020 through December 4, 2020, and again from January 4, 2021 through January 15, 2021.

The Board based their decision on several factors which included:

  • Trying to keep students in school as long as possible as data indicates that in-school learning is preferable and;
  • To minimize the social and emotional strain on parents having to provide daycare for their children as well as the financial strain for those parents who may have their jobs negatively impacted.

Building principals will be sending out additional information regarding student expectations during this time period.

As previously stated, the district will provide special education support as needed during these remote learning sessions.

William J. Rearick
Superintendent of Schools
