HMS Plumbing Issue

Dear HMS Families,

At approximately 1:15 PM, after all lunches had ended, staff noted a plumbing issue in the kitchen area, with wastewater backing up through a clogged line in the kitchen staff bathroom. Due to the plumbing and clean-up that is required, the cafe and kitchen at the school will be closed to all students Thursday. Local and state health officials were contacted and all proper protocols from the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services’ Emergency Action Plan for Retail Food Establishments were followed and exceeded. Servpro Fire and Water Clean-Up and Restoration® will be handling the professional clean-up. They will be utilizing only safe, eco-friendly, plant-based products for the clean-up. The clean-up will be completed on Thursday, February 20, 2020.

If your child gets either breakfast or lunch at school, it will be prepped and sent from the other Hooksett schools. Please note that choices will be limited and not what is posted on the menu. A full meal will be provided. All students will eat their lunches in their classrooms.

We are working closely with both state and local officials to make certain that all protocols are followed and that any needed safety inspections performed. Thanks for your understanding as we address this matter. If you have any questions, please contact the school via email or phone.

Sincerely,

Stephen Harrises
HMS Principal
