Summer Enrichment for All Khan Academy Mappers

Our students will have a great opportunity to continue their learning over the Summer months using the highly recommended Khan Academy Mappers. Most students have utilized Khan Academy during their time at HMS. Khan Academy is a personalized learning resource for students of all ages. It offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. Khan focuses on math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. The math exercises guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. They have also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

Khan Academy Mappers allows teachers to enter information from the latest NWEA assessment to create individual learning plans designed to meet your child’s individual strengths and challenges, personalizing the learning for students at all levels. HMS staff should have student data entered by early next week.

Most classes have used Khan Academy Mappers during the course of the past school year. Your child will log into their Khan account using their SAU15 Google account. Once logged in to Khan, your child may need to add “/mappers” to the end of the URL (https://www.khanacademy.org/mappers). Students will then be given learning lessons and activities that meet their personal needs based upon their latest NWEA assessment. For easy logins, bookmark the website.

Khan Academy is an excellent tool to keep your child engaged in meaningful and targeted learning throughout the Summer and school year. You decide when and where your child participates in this optional experience. Please contact the school if you have questions. Enjoy Summer 2019!
