Hooksett School Board Votes to Reopen School

Dear Hooksett Parents/Guardians,

Last evening the Hooksett School Board voted to reopen schools with the option for parents to select
in-person learning or full-time remote learning. A survey will be emailed to parents in the next few days
to gauge parent interest regarding the options. The Board also voted to change the first day of school for
students to Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

In conjunction with the in-person learning option, the Board voted to have students in grades 2-8 wear
face coverings in school unless they were exempt due to a medical condition. For students in grades
PreK-1, it is recommended that they wear a face covering while in school. All students will wear a face
covering on the bus unless otherwise exempt.

In the upcoming weeks, parents will be receiving additional information regarding both the in-school and
distance learning options along with a survey to make their selection for the school year.

Please contact your child’s building principal if you have any questions.
Sincerely,

William J. Rearick
Superintendent of Schools
