Dear Auburn, Candia and Hooksett Families;

Today, as many of you may have heard, Governor Sununu issued a stay-at-home order and extended distance learning until Monday, May 4, 2020.  When we made the move to remote learning on March 16, 2020, we did so, hoping that three weeks would be sufficient to support community efforts to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It is clear that these efforts need to be more long-term to make a meaningful impact.

As teachers have been implementing distance learning for the past two weeks, we have also been planning for distance learning to continue for a longer period of time.  Our focus for these first few weeks of instruction has been on solidifying foundational skills.  Beginning April 6, our focus will shift to moving forward in our curriculum at each grade level.  This will be done in a variety of ways including instructional videos, live interactive lessons, and information on our distance learning websites.

School events through the month of April have been postponed.  The week of April 27th – May 1st will continue to be our spring vacation week.  There will be no distance learning that week. This will provide a much-needed break for students, parents and teachers.  At this point in time, there has been no official word on state testing, but when the plan is announced, we will share it with you.

I’d like to thank the students, parents, teachers and administrators in our communities for their coordinated efforts, patience and support.  As always, please feel free to reach out to teachers, principals and our district help desks if there is anything that you need.
