Lexington and Concord Field Trip

On Wednesday, May 25, the 5th grade class took a field trip to Concord and Lexington, MA. The weather was beautiful and the students were very excited about seeing the sites they had read and heard about while studying the American Revolution. Students were prepared to make presentations at various locations, with student groups being the ‘experts.’ The trip took students to the North Bridge (the scene of “The Shot Heard ‘Round the World”), the Minute Man Visitor Center and the Hartwell Tavern. Students were able to see the uniforms worn by American Revolutionary soldiers, “The Hancock” (a cannon), the firing of a musket, and the Paul Revere Capture site. Students also walked the Battle Road, where soldiers marched in April 1775, after Paul Revere’s famous ride. It was a memorable day! We thank the Hooksett School District and the Hooksett PTA for their ongoing support of experiences such as this.
