Grade level representatives, one from each class, met on October 14. They shared many ideas about what was going well at HMS and some things they would like to see. Their ideas were very well articulated at each grade level. Some topics discussed: students were getting along well; friendship/spirit week; enjoy using the school’s varied technologies; they feel safe at HMS; having recess before lunch; more time for science and social studies; how long the bus rides are; neighborhood schools; etc. The conversations are off to a great start. The advisory council will continue to discuss issues and ideas that are important to our student body throughout the school year. The second lunch meeting will be on Friday, November 18.
