This spring, approximately 30 girls at Hooksett Memorial School participated in the GIrls on the Run program which was coached by parent and teacher volunteers. Multiple teams were created this season to accommodate high interest levels. Girls on the Run is a program which inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. The ultimate goal is to provide girls with tools and resources that develop their ability to think critically -a skill that will serve them for a lifetime! Girls on the Run made cards and raised money for children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as part of their community service project. As a culminating activity, the HMS Girls on the Run will complete in a 5K road race at Memorial Field in Concord on Sunday, June 5. Thanks to our staff volunteers, Miss Hutchinson, Mrs. Coulon, Mrs. Marble, Mrs. Curran and Mrs. Bradley and to the parent volunteers, Mrs. Dennis, Mrs. Rivet, Ms. Liles, Ms. Lopez and Mrs. Gosselin for giving their time and energy to support this program.
