2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee

Our school conducted the annual Bee during the first few weeks of January, with class competitions and a whole school competition for grades 4 and 5. Congratulations to our school champion, Ian Dresser, a fifth grader in Mrs. Githmark’s class. Adriana Quintal, in Mr. Rivet’s fifth grade class, was our runner-up and will be the alternate to the state bee. The 2016 New Hampshire State Spelling Bee will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016, at 1:00 PM, at the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord. The student to emerge as the top speller will represent the Granite State at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C. in May. Good luck to Ian! The HMS Fifth Classroom Representatives are: Kaley Wood, Adin Subasic, Marcus Vazquez, Adriana Quintal, Ian Dresser, Joseph Czekanski, Briana Danis, and Sara Kane.
