October 2014 – Guidance with Mrs. Berger

We read “Enemy Pie” by Derek Munson.  This is a story about a very clever dad who tricks his son into spending an entire day with his enemy.  “Even worse, you have to be nice to him.”  In the end the boys become friends.  The classes then created all the ingredients needed for a good friendship.

Friendship Pie

1 cup of helpful, ¼ cup of honesty, 2 cups of kindness, ½ cup of loyalty, pinch of love, tablespoon of the golden rule, 10 cups of compassion, 1 tablespoon of playfulness, 1 tablespoon of hugs, 2 cups of trust, 2 cups of caring, 1 cup of smiles, 8 cups of forgiveness, 3 cups of sharing, pinch of disagreement, 1 tablespoon of listening, and ½ cup of remembering.
