Marvin the Mustang

When David R. Cawley Middle School replaced Memorial as Hooksett’s middle school in 2003, the students brought the Hooksett Hawk with them, leaving Memorial without a mascot. In honor of Memorial’s 50th Birthday in 2013, students were invited to participate in a contest to design a new mascot. Travis W., who was in third grade at the time, came up with Marvin the Mustang.  As Travis explained in his winning entry, “This mascot represents Hooksett Memorial School because mustangs are smart, fast, strong, and have a lot of energy. And because they are historic and free.”
